The Word becomes…
I am in a state of pure excitement when it comes to all of the new people coming to church. I know many people are saying that the church is struggling right now, but I just don’t believe in that report. I’m seeing people coming to know Jesus like never before and the best days of the church are ahead of us.
I have a bunch of new faces in my connect group (small group) and last week we had the best conversation a pastor can have with people… They were all asking how they could read the Bible more, where to start, and what if they don’t understand something- all questions that I wished more people would ask. So…I told them to start at the Gospel of John (“The Simple” Gospel).
I love the way the book starts… It says “In the beginning was the Word…” That is more than just an opening to a book but a proclamation that before it all started, God was and is the solution. Even before the problems arrive, God provided the way. Let that encourage you today! Even though this problem or situation surprised you, it did not surprise God.
He’s faithful to the end, because He was there in the beginning…
I love how later in that chapter it says the word became flesh and dwelt amoung us. I just love that we have a God that delights to hang out with us!
